Some Awesome Pics of the V&A Waterfront
March 28, 2017Eco Park Green Point, Cape Town – What a beautiful Place!
April 19, 2017We have traveled all over the world and experienced many different countries and cities (We are back here because Cape Town is Awesome!) and one of our biggest expenses apart from the actual travel has always been accommodation.
Now those of you that have been away from home knows that it is no small thing to book accommodation for your trip. There are quite a few things you need to consider like comfort level, position, patrons, and, of course price. I can tell you a few stories about bookings that went real bad, ending up in real shady areas or hotels etc but that is not what this post is about. In this post I want to focus on Cape Town and what we have found to be the best value for money as far as a place to stay short term goes.
We have found that most of the Hotels in cape Town are Awesome but if you are traveling on a bit of a budget your best bet is to find a nice self catering apartment or house of which there are literally thousands in Cape Town. And the best way to do that is through AirBnB, a website that allows you to search through thousands of available properties quickly and effectively.

If you sign up to AirBnb through this link you will receive a R600 travel credit toward your first stay so sign up here now and lock that Travel Credit in – even if you are not planning a trip in the near future. You have nothing to lose – worst case scenario they will send you occasional emails with some awesome places to stay(maybe inspiring you to take that trip). O, and I will also get R300 travel credit for each person that signs up and books a trip, so thank you for helping us on our travels as well 😉
Let’s look at some of the available properties in Cape Town:
There is everything from real budget accommodations like this one in Strand (We are currently staying here) accommodating four people at a mere R495 per night. While it isn’t necessarily “Upmarket” it is clean functional and the host is great. Thing is, we only sleep here and spend our days taking in the awesomeness of Cape Town so it works well for our needs. It is about a 5 minute walk from the beach.

There are a lot of mid-range properties available for between R800 and R1200 per night like this one in Newlands that come in at R 1135 per night and comes with all the amenities: DSTV, Wifi, Parking etc.

Then You get the nicer but still cheaper than a Hotel in a nice position like this one in Blouberg for R1333 per night. It has amazing views and sleeps up to six guests. Three Bedrooms, DSTV, Wifi, Parking – everything you need for a nice Cape Town holiday.

And then, of course if you have the money and you want to holiday in style, you can book this modern Beach Villa in Bakoven for a mere R10 867 per night. It sleeps six and is Ultra modern and comfortable with all the amenities you can possibly need or want.
