June 13, 2017Our Cape Town dams are getting some water!
After three consecutive cold fronts, Cape Town has seen some relief from the drought that has been plaguing it. Not nearly enough rain to solve the crisis but every little bit helps. Quite a few pictures and videos have surfaced showing water flowing into the Cape Town Dams and we even found a video showing water overflowing from the Fairy Glen Dam.
The Fairy Glen Dam is situated at the foot of the Fonteintjiesberg and has a capacity of 516 Megaliter. It Mainly supplies water to Panorama, Fairway Heights and Van Riebeeckpark in Worchester.
At least it is Awesome watching the water flowing into our dams again. We put together a few videos showing sweet water flowing into our dams. Enjoy!
Fairy Glen Dam overflowing:
Water Flowing into Theewaterskloof Dam:
Although the recent rains have brought some relief Cape Town is not nearly out of the woods yet as far as the water crises is concerned. All the cape town Dams has water flowing into them but we will need a lot more to get back to normal so let’s not let up on those water saving habits we have cultivated over the last few months.
