1. Cape Town Cycle Tour

This world-famous Cycle Tour has been running for 40 years. The race is 109km long and kicks off on Sunday, 11 March 2018.
International entries close on 23 February 2018 at 4 pm and will cost R1000.
Charity entry fees vary and entries close on 31 January 2018 at 4 pm

2. Concerts

You can expect some amazing music in 2018. Lots of big international bands and musicians are gearing up to visit the mother city this year.

Collective Soul coming on 4 Feb at Grandwest
The Crash Test Dummies will be playing at the Hillcrest Quarry on 17 Feb
The Script in May at Grandwest
Santana will be visiting Cape Town again in April at the Cape Town Stadium
UB40’s 25th-anniversary concert on 15th of May will also be at Grandwest
Incubus will be playing on Feb 28 at the Grand West Arena in Cape Town
and Myles Kennedy from Alter Bridge will be doing an Acoustic Showcase at Grandwest on the 6th of March.
3. Starbucks
The world-famous coffee shop that everyone loves, Starbucks, has officially announced that they will be opening its doors to the beautiful people of Cape Town in 2018.
After a year in Joburg, they decided to let Cape Town have a taste too. Exact dates and locations have not been announced just yet. We are eagerly waiting in anticipation.
4. Cape Town Coffee Festival

Coffee snobs of Cape Town unite to celebrate their love of a good cup of java! The festival will be held on the 24-25 of Feb 2018 at the Cape Town City Hall.
Watch the world’s best latte artists create their masterpieces live and even get to learn their tricks and techniques in a 20-minute workshop or visit “The Lab” where industry experts will give demonstrations and talks about the latest trends in specialty coffee.
There will also be a CMx™ barista tournament taking place during the festival. The winner of which will go on to compete in the highly-coveted Coffee Masters London 2018 competition.
You can also expect your favorite coffee shops like Bean There, Truth Coffee, Vida, and Haas to be participating in the festival

5. Red Bull King Of The Air

The best Kiteboarding contest in the world returns to Cape Town for another year. It will be held at Kite Beach in Blouberg for the first time and will be from 21 Jan to 11 Feb when the weather will be at it’s best and the legendary Cape Doctor is known to bust out wind speeds of over 30 knots creating the perfect conditions for these athletes to battle it out on the waves.
Some of the riders that have been announced include Sam Light from the UK, Oswald Smith from South Africa, Reno Romeu from Brazil, and Gijs Wassenaar

6. Comedy
Get ready to cry with laughter! This year we have a great line up of Comedy shows you can enjoy.
Jimmy Carr will have us in stitches in September at Grandwest
Conrad Koch, SA’s top ventriloquist, will be performing at the Baxter Theatre from the 3rd to 14th of April.
Spier will be hosting a “Comedy In The Vines” with Mark Lottering on the 24th of Feb
7. The Grand White
Celebrating its 5th anniversary, this event will be held in a secret location only disclosed to ticket buyers closer to the event date. Attendees are required to wear white with a touch of green. There will be live music, entertainment and a variety of food. You can choose to order a picnic basket or pack your own.
Tickets cost R390 – R580 per person and the event will take place on the 24th of Feb 2018

8. ReForest Fest
Hosted by Greenpop, the annual Reforest Fest aims to bring people together to help plant thousands of trees while having a good time dancing to live music, camping under the stars and learning about sustainability.
There are two weekends to choose from one is catered towards families and will be on the 16th to 18th of March, the other is geared towards friends and will be held on the weekend of 23rd of March. Both weekends will be held at the Platbos Forest located just past Stanford in the Cape Overberg.

9. Cape Town Carnival
Celebrate our Mother City at the Cape Town Carnival happening on the 17th of March 2018. They advise that you dress up but be sure to wear comfortable footwear as the Green Point Fan Walk is around 2km with lots to explore along the way.
General access is free, or you can purchase a seated ticket for R300pp to watch the parade go by or a VIP ticket where you get the best views and refreshments for R1300pp. After the parade, the party continues at the Cape Town Carnival Villages where you can expect music, entertainment, a bar, refreshments, and food.
